I have had a great crop of radishes this year.  I experimented with couple different types. I ordered two types from Greta’s Organic Gardens http://www.seeds-organic.com/. The two types I tried were; Cherry Belle,  and Purple Plum. As stated in her description, they both have a great taste and a nice texture even the over sized keep those benefits. I also planted a row of generic ones that I had in my seed box.

The radish is one of those garden plants that seem to always turn out no matter what you do; count on more then you can eat.

We eat them two waysm we eat them in a salad or by themselves, not sure of other ways but going to keep looking. Yesterday I decided to pickled them. I used the power of the net and selected two recipes; http://www.recipezaar.com/Pickled-Radishes-118828 and http://thepioneerwoman.com/tasty-kitchen/recipes/canning/radish-pickles/.

So far in my taste tests the recipezaar recipe tastes better but both haven’t sat long enough. It seems the addition of onion might be the difference, the brines are similar. Think tonight we will try this one http://www.recipezaar.com/Radish-Salad-235364. If you have a more suggestions on how to eat radishes drop me a line.
